Our Commitment
North Star Psychiatry & Wellness, LLC provides care to all patients without regard to race, color, national origin, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, marital status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, South Carolina, or local law.
Nondiscrimination in Care
This commitment applies to every aspect of how care is provided at North Star, including scheduling, evaluation, treatment planning, communication, and billing. Every provider on our team — whether a psychiatric nurse practitioner or a therapist — is expected to uphold this standard.
Requesting an Accommodation
We want every patient to be able to fully participate in their care. If you need an accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) — for example, wheelchair access, an interpreter or auxiliary aid for communication, materials in an alternate format, or a modification to how a visit is conducted — you can let us know in a few ways:
- Let our office know when you register as a new patient
- Mention it when our office confirms your appointment
- Contact our office directly at any point before or during your care
- Email our ADA contact at ADA@northstarpsychiatrysc.com
We will work with you to identify a reasonable accommodation and will follow up before your appointment whenever possible.
Language Assistance
If English is not your preferred language, let us know and we will work to arrange language assistance services for your visit at no cost to you.
Filing a Concern
If you believe you have been treated unfairly or denied a reasonable accommodation, you may contact our office directly, or email ADA@northstarpsychiatrysc.com, to raise your concern, or file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office for Civil Rights.
